Water4Gas - Does Water4Gas Really Work?

by Hayden Lim

I hate my car - it’s just a big polluter to our environment, expensive to maintain and getting more and more expensive to run. but now there’s water, an alternative source of fuel to run your car. Here are 5 benefits of converting water for gas now.

1. How Can You Build This System For Yourself? - Most people would choose to do it themselves as it is more affordable, although you also have the option buy an expensive hydrogen gas car kit from the market. If you choose to build this hybrid car system yourself, it should cost you less than $150, and you can do it from your own home. All you need are some cheap parts and materials that you can be bought at any hardware store.

2. Why Should You Run Your Car On Water? - Besides water being a great commodity, this new technology will double your car’s gas mileage. All it takes is a bit of learning to create a hydrogen converter at a low cost to allow your car to run on water. And the best part about running your car on water, there will be less air pollution and your car will be running quieter. Fact is, the hydrogen produced from water is used to burn the fuel, and as a result, less unburnt fuel will be coming out of your exhaust system. .

3. Cheaper than a Hybrid Car - We’ve all heard and seen “hybrids”, but on the highway they are nothing but regular, inefficient cars. Their aerodynamics are a little better, but that’s true for many other cars that don’t have the Prius looks. It’s a great step forward though, if you can afford the price, because they make us think of alternative energy in more earthly terms.

4. How Does A Car Run on Water? In simple nutshell, your car battery is used to generate electricity to electrolyze water. By doing that, your car extracts a gas called oxyhydrogen or Brown Gas which is then used to produce energy large enough to run your car. The end product is oxygen and water.

5. Very little water is needed, only one quart of water (tap water) provides over 1800 gallons of HHO gas which can literally last for months and significantly increase gas mileage and improve emissions quality.

Ashworth Degree: The New Mechanic

by Fabian Toulouse

Training to be an automotive mechanic can be a very lucrative decision. Most comprehensive curriculums train students in the operation, components, performance, inspection, and modification of any and all automotive systems. The prospective student should learn the intricacies of the engine, drive train, transmission, fuel system, carburetor, starter, power system, drive train, emissions system, cooling system, lubricating system, and electrical system.

This is a highly valued skill. Customers are more than willing to pay for quality automotive service. The capacity to successfully diagnose and restore cars has traditionally been a worthwhile one. Moreover, highly-skilled mechanics often build a loyal clientele. Word of mouth can make or break a mechanic’s career. It behooves the future automotive student to know as much about his field of expertise as possible.

According to the Department of Labor, the employment opportunities for automotive training students are excellent. Possible career choices include service mechanic, rental fleet mechanics, auto parts specialist, specialty shop technician, emissions inspector, accessories installer, test mechanic, electronics specialist, and more. There has never been a lack of demand for automotive repair specialists and mechanics.

Modern automotive systems are profoundly dependent on incorporated electronic systems. An array of complex electronics regulates vehicles and their performance. The modern automotive technician must have practice using electronic diagnostic equipment and digital manuals. Indeed, when a mechanic is attempting to troubleshoot a malfunction, he or she must first get a description of the problem. Then, they isolate each system, ensuring they are each working properly. As a part of their investigation, mechanics may test drive the vehicle in conjunction with using an array of diagnostic equipment and compression gauges. These tests not only find the faulty part or system, but they can determine whether or not the part or system is salvageable.

Routine service inspections, likewise, rely upon advanced electronic diagnostic tools. These routine inspections are designed to keep vehicles running smoothly, ensuring they have the necessary filters, fluids, and safety equipment in order. A trained mechanic should be skilled at identifying any worn engine belts, spark plugs, brakes, fuel lines, intact hoses, and water lines.

The tools a skilled mechanic needs to master and be familiar with include a number of power tools. Pneumatic wrenches quickly remove tire nuts, lathes and grinders repair brakes, torches and welding equipment repair exhaust systems, and jacks and hoists lift cars and engines. Additionally, mechanics must be familiar with common handtools like screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches. More often than not, employers and service departments furnish the more costly power tools, engine analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.

Time for Spring Car Maintenance

by Amy Nutt

Its that time of year again, spring. Your vehicle is ready to be treated well after a long, hard winter and you will need to make sure that a full spring maintenance is done to keep your car or truck in perfect operating order. Lets take a look at some of the most important factors in the spring maintenance.

Exterior Spring Maintenance

Wiper blades. These are an important part of vehicle maintenance. Youll want to replace old blades or clean newer ones that have gone through the rigors of winter. Wiper blades should be replaced every six months anyway, so doing it during your spring clean up is perfect timing. Washing. The salt that is used to melt ice on roads can be very damaging to your car, so now that spring is here, give it a thorough washing from top to bottom. Make sure you rinse the undercarriage as well, since this is where a lot of rust happens without you noticing.

Waxing. This is the perfect time to wax your vehicle so it will last for a while and be easier to clean next time. You should also repair any chips in the paint at this time. Tires. Check your tire pressure and top up if needed. Keeping your tires at optimum pressure will save you hundreds of dollars in gas and tire wear, so this should be a regular thing, not just for spring maintenance.

Engine Maintenance

Oil. You should change your oil every 3 to 4 months, so an easy way to remember that is to simply change with the change of seasons. Your spring vehicle maintenance is the ideal time to do this. Tune up. Get a tune up now, to make sure that your vehicle is in great condition for summer driving, when most longer trips are taken. This will allow you to travel safely to weddings or on vacation. Fluid levels. A quick check of all fluid levels is a good idea at this point, too. Make sure everything is topped up so your engine will be running at top efficiency and you wont have to deal with problems in this area later on.

Other Vehicle Maintenance

Interior. Now that the weather is warmer, youll be able to get out the vacuum and get rid of the clutter and garbage that built up over the winter! Clean out your cars interior and vacuum for a nicer driving atmosphere.

Brakes. A break check should be done every spring to ensure that they are in perfect working order. You may not even realize that your brakes aren’t working properly, since we tend to get used to them as time goes on. This can end up being very dangerous, so get them checked before you head into spring.

Other systems. Your spring maintenance checkup is a good time to review all other areas of your vehicle, replace broken lights and repair any other problems that you have been leaving until warmer weather.

A spring vehicle maintenance is the ideal way to ensure that your vehicle is ready to drive and is safe to do so for the spring and summer months. This includes checking out the main systems, fixing up your car and removing the winter salt and grime that can be damaging, as well as replacing parts like the windshield wipers for better visibility. Its an important part of car upkeep. You should also do a winter maintenance session to ensure that your vehicle is ready for winter, six months or so from now.

Hybrid Cars: The Sure Way to go and the way to Save You Money

by Sandy Maseko

This type of cars are electric, “Electric” is a word that is linked with innovation and imagination. Electric signals “power.” That means the power to run and the power to run for miles and miles. That’s what a hybrid car is all about. When you get in one, you’ll know you’ll get to where you need to go and you won’t have to stop at ten gas stations on the way.

A hybrid car is a vehicle that is run on electricity. It’s a combination of a conventional propulsion system and a rechargeable energy storage system that is onboard the vehicle. These two work together to give the vehicle better fuel economy than cars that run strictly on gasoline.

Since the cost possibly overrides the benefits of the hybrid car, a hybrid car may just be a transitional car, and the actual wave of the future might be a car that is fueled by something other than “fuel.” Whatever that “fuel” is, I’m sure we will all like it and then we’ll be calling that fuel the wave of the future. Some people today are already fueling their cars with cooking oil, but that doesn’t seem to have caught on world wide like hybrid cars have. Therefore, cooking oil does not seem to be the solution for us. But, maybe some day, people will start fiddling with their hybrid cars and come up with something much better than the design that is before them.

Can a hybrid car really save you money?

You could buy a smaller car and sacrifice style, size, and reputation, but who wants to drive around in a dumpy little car when they could be driving a gigantic SUV? With all of the options that exist for saving gas, there is one that makes a lot more sense than all of the others: Get a hybrid car. However, does a hybrid car really save you money?

But then there are the stories of people who purchase hybrid cars, but they actually end up saving very little. That is because some of these people may be highway drivers as opposed to local commuters. A hybrid car re-powers its battery by stopping. So if you are a highway driver, you may also not be able to appreciate how much money you save with a hybrid car.

Many people say that whether you experience great monetary savings by purchasing a hybrid car has to do with a lot more than most people think. And it really does. Some people who are stay-at-home moms for instance, don’t even consider that it might not make a difference whether they own a hybrid car or not. Really, they just don’t go too many places.

Are you planning to take a road trip?

by Juble.com

Ever since the tragedies such as what happened on September 11th, 2001, more and more people refuse to fly the not quite so friendly skies. Even after seven years, statistics show that more families prefer to drive to their vacation destination, than are inclined to get aboard an aircraft. Which is actually rather ironic, as it is has actually been proven by numerous studies; that more people are killed in automobile accidents than in aircraft crashes.

No matter where you are headed, or how long it will take you to get there, always take proper safety precautions, and drive carefully. Whether you are just running to the store for a forgotten grocery item, or you are driving across the country to visit family or friends, the following behaviors and practices will help ensure that you arrive and return without accident or incident.

Every day rules, for every driving excursion.

Wear your seat belt. Maintain the speed limit. Never drive after consuming alcohol or drugs. Never drive while exhausted, severely injured, or seriously ill. Observe all traffic regulations. Be considerate of other drivers. Be aware of other drivers. Concentrate only on your driving. Drive appropriately for the weather and the road conditions.

The above measures will go a long way to assure you of a safe trip, no matter the distance you need to travel. However, if you plan traveling for any significant length of time, there are other things you need to plan for and take into consideration. Your comfort is very important, if you are tense, or hungry, or tired, then your driving could be affected, making an accident more likely. The following list, should give you an idea of what type of things you might want to bring along on your road trip.

car care for winter weather

by Juble.com

your car needs special attention in winter season as it can be damaged because of snow, rain or wind

In places such as Wisconsin, winter never fails to come as a surprise for some drivers. One day, it seems as if you are observing the beauty of autumn, the leaves are falling gracefully to the ground in a kaleidoscope of color, and then the next day, you’re stuck in a snowdrift three feet high, because you had no idea you would need the snow tires, or chains on your tires this early.

Important items to carry in your vehicle during winter

By October, you need to realize that you should prepare your vehicle for winter driving. Some things you can’t forget to keep in your car.

Gloves Ice scraper Windshield brush Blanket Lightweight shovel Small bag of sand, or cat litter Pocket hand warmers Road flares Jumper cables Flashlight A change of clothes, including thick socks, thermal insulated under garments (long johns) Snow boots

Keeping a cell phone charging in the vehicle is also a recommended precaution, make sure that the phone is reliable and has good range coverage. If you end up in trouble, on a lonely road, in the dark of night, in the deep cold of December, every one of those items will be useful, and helpful.

Supercross Racing: Some Interesting Information And Facts

by Sandy Maseko

Supercross motorcycle racing is often summed up as dirt-bike racing; however, most fans and drivers prefer if you call it supercross motorcycle racing. This is mainly due in part to the fact that dirt-bike racing has a number of different variations. In a way, dirt-bike racing sounds so backyard-ish, but the reality is that supercross racing is actually a professional sport. In fact, it is professional sport that has rapidly increased in popularity, especially over the past few years.

If you are a fan of supercross racing, you likely already know how the racing works. However, if you are a new fan or if you are unfamiliar with the ins and outs of supercross racing, you may want to learn more. Learning the ins and out of supercross racing would take some time, especially when you figure in the racing, itself, as well as the equipment needed and the track surfaces. However, if you are just looking to know what is happening on your television or during a live supercross motorcycle race, you are in luck. To do so, you just need to have a general overview of how supercross motorcycle racing works. You can easily learn this important information in a matter of minutes.

Some supercross motorcycle racing events are operated in different ways, but all will have main event. The length of that main event will be left up to the promoters of the race. Most supercross motorcycle racing main events are twenty laps. During this time, racers will compete for first place; however, supercross motorcycle racing is not like most other forms of racing. As previously stated, supercross race tracks are man-made tracks with numerous jumps, small hills, and other obstacles. In addition to coming in first place, racers must also successful maneuver the course. Although this may seem easy, it isn’t always. This is because the racing is often done in close corridors, making it even harder to maneuver around the track.

Amateur is another word that is used to describe a recreational passion. Therefore, for the most part amateur supercross motorcycle racers will not just race for money, but for the passion. Often times these races are held in backyards or at local supercross racing tracks. If you are not necessarily looking to make a living as a supercross racer, but you don’t want to go broke either, you are advised to try and race at a local supercross racetrack, if you have access to one. Many of these races are sponsored by local businesses; therefore, they tend to pay for wins and other top ranking positions. Although the pay might not be high, it may be enough to pay for all of your racing expenses.

In addition to taking a motorcycle course, you may even want to research and learn as much as you can about supercross motorcycle racing. You could do this by watching instructional videos or reading books on the subject. Online, in your local video store, as well as in your local sports store, you should be able to find instructional or informational videos on supercross racing. For printed materials, you are advised to also check out the internet, your local sports stores, as well as your local book stores. One of the best ways to learn about supercross racing is to experience it first hand; however, the previously mentioned resources may be able to provide you with valuable information on supercross motorcycle racing.

When it comes to practicing, you will find that you have a number of different options. Depending on where you live, you may have access to an indoor supercross racing track or an outdoor motocross racing track. If you do, you will want to see if you are able to use the track. You may have to pay to use it, but you will find that the small fees are worth the experience. In addition to use of a local track, you may also find that your local track offers training courses. If these courses are offered, you are encouraged to take one. Not only should you be able to get the feel of a real off-road racing track, but you may also be able to learn valuable tips.

By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to find the safest way to participate in supercross motorcycle racing. As previously mentioned, the best way may be to take an off-road motorcycle course, but, as you can see, there are a number of other easy and affordable alternatives.

Things That Can Influence Auto Insurance Quotes

by Davion Wong

Though some people believe that auto insurance quotes depend on state regulations and policies, it is not always so. If you take time to compare the rates auto insurance companies offer, you will realize that they may vary as greatly as a few hundred dollars. Though each state’s regulations and policies do play a certain role in the given price, insurance agents themselves determine their final rates.

Consider many factors that can influence the auto insurance quotes. Information such as your age, driving record, vehicle type, and the coverage you want can be factors. This information is very important to the company because it serves as their basis.

Information such as your vehicle’s condition, mileage, place of registration, and current health condition will be included. Some companies would ask you additional questions to able to provide you the right deal.

History of any car accidents that you caused, no driving experience, and registering your car in a large city will also influence in higher auto insurance quotes. Insurance quotes can also be reduced if you have a good driving record and higher deductibles.

In order to get the best insurance rates, make sure to check if you are eligible to any discounts. Students and senior citizens can get discounted auto insurance quotes with most of the companies nationwide. Further discounts may depend on your state regulations as well as the company’s policy. It is important not to miss this aspect as even a little discount will save you a lot of money in the long run.

As you inquire companies for auto insurance quotes, be very exact on what type of coverage you are looking for. There is no use purchasing much coverage for a brand new car because there is nothing much to insure yet. Your company can provide you the right coverage if you provide them exact details, and not end up buying things you don’t really need. By providing them information, you will be able to save money and get the right coverage.

And of course, it helps to compare the insurance rates and type of coverage different companies offer. However, don’t assume that the cheapest is really the best here. What counts is rather value for money, i.e. good customer service and coverage at the lowest possible price. To find best auto insurance quotes is quite simple nowadays with many websites offering free comparison as well as loads of useful information to help you make a wise decision.

Take a look at the following useful resources to find what you need.

New Hybrid Cars: Tax Information You Need To Know

by Jim Hofman

If you’re considering buying a hybrid car or truck, you’ll be happy to know that the U.S. government offers certain tax incentives for your purchase. The Energy Policy Act provides a tax credit for those who purchase certain energy efficient vehicles. Since that act passed, it’s been up to auto manufacturers to certify to the Internal Revenue Service that certain passenger autos and light trucks qualify for the credit and the amount of the credit. All the consumer needs to do is check with their dealer. If the vehicle qualifies, the amount will be posted at the dealership, usually right on the vehicle itself.

In order to declare the credit on your tax return, you’ll need to meet certain requirements. They’re pretty basic, and here they are for your reference:

1. The vehicle must be placed in service after 12-31-05 and purchased on or before 12-31-10, and the original use of the vehicle must begin with the taxpayer claiming the credit.

2. The credit may only be claimed by the original owner of a new, qualifying hybrid vehicle. Used vehicles do not apply.

3. The vehicle must be acquired for use or lease by the taxpayer claiming the credit. You can’t buy the car for someone else’s use and claim the credit yourself.

4. The credit is only available to the original buyer. Leases don’t count as buying. In a lease situation, the leasing company can claim the credit.

5. The vehicle must be used predominantly within the U.S.

Some Tax Credits Phasing Out

The hybrid vehicle tax credit begins to phase out when the manufacturer sells 60,000 qualifying vehicles. As an example, hybrid vehicles produced by Toyota Motor Sales USA qualify only for a lesser percentage of the tax credit. This applies to all hybrid vehicles sold by Toyota Motor Sales, which encompasses both Toyota and Lexus. Check with your dealer, but as of this writing most of these credits are 25% of the original amount.

Finally, the year in which the vehicle is placed into service is key. Let’s use an example. Let’s suppose you purchased a qualifying hybrid vehicle on December 27, 2007 and take possession on January 5, 2008. The amount of your eligible credit can be taken for the 2008 tax year.

The purpose of these tax cuts was designed to stimulate consumer purchase of hybrid vehicles. While we expect some level of tax incentive to remain, we also predict the amounts will lessen over time. The rationale appears to be that hybrid vehicles will be much more accepted over time, thereby negating the need for tax credits.
