PSP Game Downloads - What You Need To Consider
Before you start downloading any games to your Sony PSP there are some certain factors which you need to take into consideration first. These will ensure then that you get the best possible downloads for your device. Below we provide some guidelines which will help to ensure that you get the best when it comes to doing PSP game downloads.
The first thing that you should consider getting is a memory stick, which will then allow you to keep all the files that you accumulate in one place and at hand whenever you want to play them. Certainly if you are looking to play larger numbers of downloaded games on your PSP it is best that you get a memory stick that has a large memory base such as the Pro Duo Card.
When it comes to actually downloading games on to your PSP you have two choices available to you. You either download them directly on to it or else you can download them on to your PC or Laptop before transferring them over to your PSP. Preferably I would use the latter method then you can keep a copy on your PC just in case something happens to your PSP. But before doing this you need to know exactly what type of firmware (operating system) you have on your PSP so that you have the right software installed on your PC and which will allow you to then transfer games from one to the other. Also the games you choose to download should also be compatible with the firmware on your PSP or they will not work.
As you start to look for games to download before you actually start downloading any you need to check the file name. Only those files which end with “PSP” are the ones that you should be looking to download as they are compatible with your console. This is extremely important to remember because the vast majority of download sites do not actually cater solely to one console but there are some do such as PSP Blender.
Plus you will soon discover that a lot of the games available for the PSP have also been compressed so you will need some sort of compression application in order to uncompress them. For Mac computers you will use something like Expander whilst for PC’s which are running Windows then WinZip is often the most favored of all compression applications available.
After the files have been unzipped inside you will find a folder that contains two files. The first file is the one which you need to install on to your PSP as this is the one that contains the games information and which is the one you will use to play the game with. The other folder has come from the developer of the game and is known as the “read me” file.
Next you need to connect your PSP to your PC in order to download the games that you have saved onto it. You can do this in two ways either by using a memory stick or connecting your PSP to your PC through use of a USB cable. If you choose the latter method in order to transfer the files from one to the other you need to press the “Home” button on your PSP and then going into the “Settings” menu.
In the settings menu you now need to go down to “USB Connection” and then press the “X” button which will then allow the memory stick inside the PSP to connect with your PC. As soon as the connection has been made you can then start to transfer the games from one to the other, but remember to put the files you are transferring into the right folder on the memory stick. So whether you are transferring PSP game downloads or other kinds of PSP downloads if not placed in the correct folder you will find that they will not work properly.
