How To Meet Women

by Joseph Matthews

Here are a few easy to follow steps you can use to meet women that makes the process of meeting women fun and easy!

Here’s a question for you…

(And you have to be honest with me here!)

Is meeting women hard for you to do? Do you feel afraid when it comes to meeting women? And is that fear keeping you from succeeding and keeping you lonely and alone?

If that’s the case, don’t sweat it. I’m going to share with you some killer tidbits of advice that you can start using right away to meet some great women, and help you overcome your fear and take control of your love life!

You may be under the false assumption that meeting women is supposed to come naturally to you. After all - we’re men! Aren’t we just “supposed” to know how to do this naturally?

Wrong.

No matter what you believe, men are not born with the skills of how to meet and attract women. (Trust me, I wish that WAS the case, but it’s not!)

Knowing how to meet women is something you LEARN, not something you’re “born with.”

You must LEARN how to meet women, just like you have to learn to speak, walk, or do long division.

It’s a SKILL. And skills are learned, not instinctual.

So if you don’t know how to meet women, know this - there is NOTHING wrong with you! You just haven’t gotten enough experience to make meeting women a comfortable experience yet.

Unfortunately, there are many guys out there who’s fear of meeting women keeps them home alone on Friday night, and most of them will NEVER do what’s necessary to overcome that fear and meet women.

This is due to the fact that these men don’t realize just how much their lives are controlled by this fear! And they justify this fear of going out and meeting women by thinking of all the things that could go wrong.

There are some guys out there who have such low self-esteem that they think every girl they approach will either reject them, laugh in their face, or insult them right off the bat. Maybe they’re afraid of being publicly embarrassed, or the slim possibility the girl has a jealous boyfriend who will beat them up!

Do you ever think of these as possibilities before you meet a girl? Because if you do, then you are actually TRAINING yourself to be scared and take no action to meet women.

In short: You are practicing FAILURE.

Understand - most of those things almost never happen in the real world!

Those fears often come from experiences men suffered in junior high or middle school, when they were starting to become sexually aware and got rejected a few times - or they saw stuff like this happen on TV, and they think it actually applies to their own life.

It’s sad that so many men allow fears like these to shape their attitudes and beliefs about meeting and dating women.

In contrast, there are other men out there who were fortunate enough to have positive experiences with girls early on in their development. These experiences helped banish irrational fears about meeting women, which helped set them up for a lot of success with women as they got older.

But even if you started off on the wrong foot in seventh grade, you can still take control of your fears of meeting women. You don’t have to be in high school to become a superstar with the ladies!

You’re just going to have to re-learn what you know about how to talk to women, and you’ll have to be willing to examine and change your current beliefs and attitudes that hold you back when it comes to meeting women.

But that’s difficult for most guys to do. It’s no problem to say you want to learn how to meet women easily, but it’s doing the work that’s the hardest part. You need to want it badly enough!

Don’t be one of those guys who let’s fear keep him from meeting the type of woman he’s always dreamed about.

When an opportunity with an attractive lady presents itself, take it! Say something to her, even if you don’t know what you should say. Just start talking.

You can ask for her opinion about something. You can ask for directions. You can playfully tease her about something she’s doing or wearing.

Or better yet, pay her a genuine compliment and be curious about who she is!

Quickly settle on the what to say - don’t worry about the words you’re going to use - and go over there and talk to her. Don’t let more than three seconds pass by. Make the decision to act and follow through. (It will help you in the future if you memorize some canned material that matches your personality.)

Don’t try and measure success based on if you got her phone number or a date. Just the simple act of approaching a woman and talking to her makes you a winner, because you did something that 80% of the other men out there wouldn’t have done! And the more you can do that, the greater your chances of meeting that one special woman.

Secrets To Meeting Women

by Joseph Matthews

Here are a few easy to follow steps you can use to meet women that makes the process of meeting women fun and easy!

I have a question…

(And you have to be honest with me here!)

Do you find meeting women difficult? Is your fear keeping you from taking the actions you need to meet women, and causing you to feel lonely and helpless?

If so, don’t worry. I’m going to give you some incredible bits of advice you can use that will help you meet great women, and help you to take control of your love life and overcome your fear!

You might think meeting women is supposed to be easy. After all, isn’t that what us men are “biologically programmed” for?

Wrong.

No matter what you believe, men are not born with the skills of how to meet and attract women. (Trust me, I wish that WAS the case, but it’s not!)

How to meet women is something you LEARN.

You have to LEARN how to talk to women, just like you have to learn how to speak out loud, or walk, or do math.

Meeting women is a SKILL. And you have to LEARN skills in order to develop them.

So if you currently don’t know how to meet women, don’t worry, there is NOTHING wrong with you! You just haven’t learned enough to make meeting women something that’s comfortable and easy yet.

Unfortunately, there are many guys out there who’s fear of meeting women keeps them home alone on Friday night, and most of them will NEVER do what’s necessary to overcome that fear and meet women.

That’s because they don’t realize the power that fear has over them! And they rationalize their fear of meeting women by imagining all of the bad things that could happen.

Some guys have such low self-esteem that they believe a girl they’re interested in will laugh in their face, reject them outright, or just simply tell them off. And if they’re really unlucky, she may throw her drink in their face and get beaten up by her boyfriend!

Do you ever think of these as possibilities before you meet a girl? Because if you do, then you are actually TRAINING yourself to be scared and take no action to meet women.

In other words: You’re practicing FAILURE.

Look - truth be told, most of these fears you have hardly EVER happen in reality!

Maybe these fears were developed when you were younger and had a bad experience with girls - possibly in the junior high / middle school age range - where some girl rejected you. Or worse, you saw these fears become realized on TV or in the movies, and that made you believe they apply to real life.

It is highly unfortunate that so many men let irrational fears shape their beliefs and attitudes about how to meet and date women that they keep to this very day!

Conversely, some of their classmates were fortunate enough to have positive experiences early on with girls and sex. Those experiences helped to define their attitudes and beliefs about meeting women, which helped set them up for success as they matured.

But here’s some good news - even if you weren’t a lucky “early bloomer,” you are still able to take control of any fear you may have about meeting women. Just because you didn’t have early success, doesn’t mean you can’t still be extremely successful with the ladies!

What you need to start doing right now is re-learn how to talk to women, and you’ll have to be willing to re-examine your current beliefs and attitudes that might be holding you back from success and change them to make meeting women easier.

Understandably, this is difficult for most guys to do. It’s one thing to say “I want to meet women,” but the hard part is taking action and DOING it! You need to ask yourself how badly do you want to improve, and if you’re willing to do the work.

You don’t want to be one of those guys who says, “Next time…” to himself whenever he sees an attractive woman. Because for those guys, every time is the “next time!”

If you see a girl you want to meet - say SOMETHING. Even if you don’t know what to say, just take a chance.

Ask her for directions. Ask for her opinion on something. Playfully tease her about something she’s wearing or something she’s doing.

At the very least - pay her an honest compliment and take an interest in who she is!

Don’t get hung up on what you’re going to say, just go over and talk to her. Don’t give yourself time to talk yourself out of it. Make the decision to act and follow through. (If you need to, memorize a few interesting stories about your life if you need something to talk about.)

You can be a winner even if you don’t win the girl over. Obviously, if you get her phone number or a date with her later on, you’ve won something big! But if you only get a girl to smile whom you thought was out of your league, you’ve also won big. And you’ll also win just by knowing that you’re not going to wonder later on what would have happened if you had actually tried to meet that girl.

Tips On Divorce Filing - Finding The Right Lawyer

by Allison Thompson

When it comes to deciding to file for divorce from your partner, it is not one of the easiest decisions you will have to make. So deciding on who will be acting as your legal representative in the case is not an easy one to make either. Below are a number of tips on divorce filing, which should hopefully help you when it comes to finding the right lawyer to act as your legal representative during the divorce process.

1. When you are choosing the lawyer to act for you it is best not to use the one you are currently employing. Instead it is far better if you employ the services of a specialist divorce lawyer. Not only will they know the divorce processes inside out but will ensure that everything is carried out in accordance with the divorce laws where you live.

2. It is best that before you actually employ someone to act for you during your divorce proceedings that you make appointments to meet with some. This way you will find out whether you will actually be comfortable telling them some of the more personal and intimate details of your life. Also look for a lawyer who is going to listen to what you say and not just do what they feel is right.

3. When selecting a lawyer to represent you in your divorce proceedings it is important that you select one who has plenty of experience. This is even more important if for any reason things can not be settled amicably and the only way is by going to court. So choose one who has sufficient experience of dealing in divorce cases that have gone before a judge, as they will fully understand all the legal requirements and procedures.

If you can arrange for them to provide you with testimonials and references from previous clients who they have helped through this very stressful period.

4. Also before you actually agree to go with any particular lawyer to help you through your divorce then you need to find out what they are going to be charging. So do not be afraid to ask, as most will be more than willing to tell you straight away what their fees are likely to be. If they do not then walk away.

However, choosing your solicitor because they are much cheaper than some of the others is not the best way to go. But certainly shopping around could save you a lot of money and may be some heartache in the long run as well.

5. At the end of the day it is crucial to remember that the person you choose is someone you will be putting a large amount of trust into in order that everything goes as smoothly as possible. If you find that you do not feel comfortable with discussing any issues or feel that you will not be able to discuss anything of importance with them. Then it is best to try another lawyer instead.

It is a good idea to select a lawyer who you know that you will have a good working relationship with. So by keeping the above tips on divorce filing in order to find the right lawyer in mind you should be able to do so. This will then ensure that they whole process can be completed in a much more amicable and less stressful way for you.

Tips On Divorce Filing - You Need A Good Lawyer

by Allison Thompson

When you make the decision to file for divorce it is one which should not be taken lightly. In fact it is likely to be one of the most difficult decisions you will ever have to make in your life. So it is important that you spend time looking for the right person to act as your legal representative during the whole process. Below we offer some tips on divorce filing which should help you with finding the right lawyer to act on your behalf.

1. It is important that you do not use the lawyer you would normally use when you purchased your home or wrote out your will. Rather what you should do is find one who specializes in dealing with divorce matters. It is them who will be able to help you through the various stages of your divorce and make sure that everything is carried out to the letter.

2. Before you go with any particular lawyer to help you through the divorce proceedings arrange an appointment to visit several. Remember you are likely to be telling them things that are of a personal nature and which relate to secrets regarding your relationship with your partner. Therefore, look for a lawyer who you feel comfortable with and who is willing to sit and listen to what you have to say.

3. Another very important thing that you will need to check out before you decide which lawyer you are going to be working with during this process is the experience that they have. This is especially important if you are likely to see that your divorce will only be settled by going to court. Therefore, you need to find a lawyer who has had experience of being in a courtroom and who will be able to help you understand exactly what is going on.

If you can arrange for them to provide you with testimonials and references from previous clients who they have helped through this very stressful period.

4. It is important before you select your lawyer that you find out what they charge for acting as your legal representative during this time. If they are unwilling to offer up any kind of information or are very vague about what they will cost then walk away and look elsewhere for your lawyer.

Yet you should not choose a lawyer to represent you when you are filing for divorce just because they are cheaper than the others you have considered. In some cases this could actually cause you a lot of heartache in the future, especially if they have little or no experience of divorce proceedings. It is far better to pay that little bit extra and go with one who knows what they are doing.

5. Finally, as previously mentioned when it comes to finding the right lawyer you need to know that you can trust them implicitly. So even if you find a lawyer who not only has the right amount of experience and offers a good fee structure, but you do not feel comfortable when talking about personal matters then go with someone else instead.

Although you do not have to be friends with your divorce lawyer, it would help if you have a good relationship with them. So if you keep the above tips on divorce filing in order to find the right lawyer for you in mind you will find one who will work on your behalf and help you what is going to be an extremely stressful time.

What does a Collection Company do?

by JR Rooney

What is a collection company?

There are a few possibilities.

Some creditors will attempt to fool a debtor by using a separate company name, address, and phone number for their internal collection departments, in order to give the impression of an “outside” agency. This strategy is should only be used when the debt is recent (under six months past due.)

However, the most successful collection activity is performed by an outside third-party collection company. Separate from the original creditors or 1st party they are able to work debts on behalf of all lenders. They, from time to time also buy bad account which have been designated as charge-offs by the original creditor.

This FAQ focuses on third-party collection companies.

How does a collection company get paid?

Third-party collection companies often work on commission, where they receive a percentage of the amount that they collect. Individual collectors are often paid a low base wage plus commissions based on their personal performance.

Some agencies also purchase large groups of charged-off bad debts for a small percentage of the face value (amount owed.) After a debt is sold, the debtor now owes the full amount to the purchaser. Since the chances of recovery decrease substantially with time, an agency might only pay 1% - 5% of face value. The agencies’ profits come from the difference between the purchase price and the amounts that are eventually collected.

How does the collection process work?

The basic tools of a collection company are letters and phone calls.

What are the dunning notices like?

The dunning letters are computer-generated, and are often in a standardized series which starts with a non-threating, “reminder” tone, and may progress to ultimatums. The letters are pre-written and sent to many debtors; they are not personal.

The initial demand letter must state that the recipient has the right to dispute the validity of the debt (in writing), and the agency must send some confirmation after verifying it with the original creditor. Demand letters must also contain the statement that they come from a debt collector, and that any information gathered will be used for the purpose of collecting the debt. Collectors are not legally allowed to print anything on the outside of the envelope which indicates or suggests the nature of the communication. The return address must also be discreet, so many companies will just use their company’s initials, or some other nondescript name.

Depending on how the debtor reacts to the demand will affect what additional notices (if any) the company will select from its library. Voluntary resolution (e.g. making payment arrangements and/or partial payments) may result in letters with a gentler tone. Deceptive or belligerent reactions from the debtor may result in a more threatening tone.

Collectors attempt to create a sense of urgency, to try and collect the debt within the shortest amount of time. This hopefully will encourage the debtor to prioritize that particular obligation. Deadlines may be set, such as, Pay this amount within 10 days. There may also be threats, such as, …Or we will proceed with further collection attempts. But most of the time, if a debtor fails to meet the deadline, all that will happen is that yet another dunning letter will arrive, making the same basic demand. The & further collection action usually just means more dunning letters.

Collection letters will always persuade the debtor to call the collection company directly on the telephone. If the debtor doesn’t call within 30 days, then a collector will often call the debtor.

What are the phone calls like?

Individual phone collectors may be assigned a portfolio of accounts, and spend the bulk of the workday, every day, working them. The collectors devotion is fueled by frequent performance evaluations and personal commission payments. The size of a collector’s own paycheck is dependent upon how much money s/he extracts from debtors. Between that factor, and the relentless confrontations, this is a very high-stress job, with high employee turnover.

If a debt collector calls and reaches someone other than the debtor (e.g. a boy/girl friend), s/he is legally prohibited from disclosing that “this is an attempt to collect a debt.” Each state has there own laws but this may or may not include the debtor’s spouse. If the collector reaches an answering machine or voice mail, s/he will often leave an approved message, but is prohibited from giving details for the call, since someone besides the debtor may hear it. The basic message goes something like, “I am calling for ABC Company. It is very important that you call me back. My name is JR Rooney, and my number is 1-631-776-8109.” S/he will typically sound rather apathetic and sonorous. Collection companies may be required to provide a phone number which is free for the debtor to return the call. They also may attach their toll free numbers to caller ID equipment which will instantly identifies and logs the phone number the debtor is calling from, in order to call the debtor at that number in the future.

When speaking with a debtor, many collectors (especially those without much experience) will use a script, which contains a pre-written introduction, request for payment, and has various branches to follow, depending on how the debtor responds. If a particular debtor is taking up too much time, without making arrangements to pay, the collector will be inclined to move on to other accounts.

Any information that the debtor gives about his/her financial situation (e.g. income or current employment, etc.) will be noted on the file’s record and used to estimate the probability of a recovery, the advantage of legal action, and so forth.

Can the collection company actually do anything?

If they are working the debt 100% commission, they can send some more demand letters and make some more scripted phone calls.

They can also mark the item as negative with the credit bureaus. If they are working on contingency, they can recommend filing suit, or if they own the account, they can file suit. However, the actual chances or intentions of this are often significantly less than they try to suggest to the debtor.

Collection companies can not legally seize a debtor’s assets, bank accounts, or paycheck unless there has already been a successful lawsuit with a judgment awarded to them.

Collection companies can not legally make any kind of public announcements or disclosures concerning the debt, except to the credit bureaus.

Collection companies can not legally get a debtor fired from his/her job.

Collection companies can not legally act in any type of physical violence or threats.

Why do debtors pay?

Often, the reasons include fear, guilt, intimidation, and a lack of understanding of the legal situation. Plus it is the right thing to do.

The debtor may feel guilty and ashamed of being a “deadbeat,” and may perceive a judgment of his/her value as a person.

The debtor may have greatly exaggerated ideas about what collectors are (legally) capable of doing, and may have outdated stereotypes in mind.

The debtor may be overwhelmed by the aggressive and relentless demands, from companies that may seem so powerful. S/he may take it personally, and assume that great individual attention is being given to this particular collection file.

Customers being contacted by collection companies are usually in serious financial distress, and under emotional pressure about the general situation, so they may be confused and defenseless.

Some debtors aren’t aware of their legal rights, and feel hopeless.

There are two useful tools that a collection company can actually do that a debtor should be worried about. These involve negative information being reported to the credit bureaus, and the unlikely probability of a lawsuit.

What about credit reports?

3rd party collection companies have the resources to report a debt to 1 or more of the credit bureaus, as a “Collection Account”. Paying this debt off will not result in the item being removed from the consumer’s credit reports - it will simply be marked “Paid in full.” Collection companies can report bad accounts that they have purchased as well as debts that are placed on a contingent bases.

Also, a collection company may request a debtor’s credit report, in order to get an idea of his/her general financial situation, and to get an updated address and phone number.

How long do collection accounts last?

Collection accounts are subject to the normal 7 year time limit for appearing on a credit report. As specified in Section 605 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, this time limit is based on the date of the original delinquency.

What is the probability they will sue the debtor?

If the debt still belongs to the original creditor, a 3rd party collection company cannot file a lawsuit. But if the balance is large enough and the debtor is being resistant and if there are indications that the debtor has vulnerable assets, the agency may send the account back to the creditor with a recommendation to file suit. Every creditor has its own criteria for the final decision; for example, the amount must be substantial (often $1500 or more, at the very least.)

Collection companies tend to avoid sending too many accounts back, since it suggests that they aren’t very good at collecting. Also, letters and phone calls are much less expensive than going to court.

If a collection company has purchased the debt, then they have the ability to file suit, but by that time, the debt is likely to be rather old, and the agency doesn’t have much invested in it.

Fear and intimidation are a collectors biggest assets, since those things can work much more quickly, cheaply, and efficiently than filing suit.

Suit is certainly brought against plenty of debtors, but not nearly as often as debtors fear. There is a big difference between, “Pay up or we will continue with collection action,” compared to an actual Summons And Complaint.

If the debt is substantial and recent, and the debtor appears to be a good target (e.g. reasonable assets or income), a lawsuit is a real possibility. If you are served with legal documents specifying a particular court, hearing date, etc., you should see a qualified attorney immediately. That area is beyond the scope of this FAQ.

Who regulates collection companies?

The most important law is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which places many restrictions on collection activities. The FDCPA only covers 3rd party collection companies, not original creditors.

Every state has applicable laws regarding such things as telephone harassment.

Who enforces the FDCPA?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) oversees the debt collection industry, and has the authority to impose fines or other penalties for violations. However, the FTC does not get involved with individual customer cases. Once they receive a large number of complaints they look for patterns of violations which could then lead to action against a particular collection company.

What if a collection company has purchased the debt?

The agency then becomes the creditor for most purposes. The debtor will not be able to make any settlements with the original creditor. The agency might be technically able to file a lawsuit against the debtor, (although this is not likely.)

However, the Federal Trade Commission has issued a Staff Opinion Letter which indicates that, even if a collection company has purchased a debt, it is still covered under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as a “third-party debt collector.”

What about the relevant time limits?

The debt does not become some kind of “new” debt just because of being sold. For example, the seven-year credit reporting time limit is still based on the original delinquency date with the original creditor. The statute of limitations for filing lawsuits is also based on that same date. These limits can not be legitimately “reset” by a collection company that has bought the debt.

However, the statute of limitations may possibly be reset if the debtor makes a specific promise to pay, or a partial payment.

Can they do anything after the time limits are up?

Yes. The statute of limitations only covers the filing of lawsuits, and the credit reporting time limit only covers bureau listings. There is no time limit on letters and phone calls.

A collection company that has purchased a bundle of “out-of-statute” debts (where the SOL has already expired, or “run”) is hoping that, either the debtors will feel guilty, or that they won’t be aware of that “out-of-statute” status. But if a particular debtor makes it clear that s/he understands the legal situation, then the collectors are likely to give up and move on to easier targets.

Can collectors call the debtor’s place of employment?

Yes, but there are limitations. For example, they can not legally tell your employer about the debt, or try to have you fired.

Is there any way to make them stop calling?

Yes. According to section 805 of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act:

“(c) CEASING COMMUNICATION. If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except –

(1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector’s further efforts are being terminated;

(2) to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or

(3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy.

If such notice from the consumer is made by mail, notification shall be complete upon receipt.”

So the consumer can just send a 3rd party collection company a written notice (preferably citing the FDCPA), ordering them to stop the collection letters and calls, and the company is legally obligated to comply. The only permissible contact thereafter is to notify the debtor of specific “remedies,” like legal action, but usually the collectors won’t even bother.

If the creditor hasn’t yet made a decision on whether or not to file a lawsuit, then that decision may be made at this point, rather than being delayed.

After a “cease and desist” notice from the consumer, the debt may then be returned to the original creditor, passed on to another third-party agency, or simply filed away, depending on the circumstances. The agency may still report the account to the credit bureaus.

TOP TIPS FOR FANTASTIC SKIN

by SKINTIPS

When you meet people, what do they see? Your face, your skin, that’s what. Your skin condition can say a lot about your health and your lifestyle. Did you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body? An adult human skin weighs around 5kg (11lbs) and has a surface area of 2 sq. metres (22 sq. feet), which is approximately the size of a double bed. Even with your clothes on that’s a lot of target for damage from the outside - injury, sunlight, cigarette smoke, environmental pollution. So your skin can be damaged by what it is exposed to, and at the same time, it reflects your internal emotions (e.g. when you sweat or blush) and conditions (especially the health of your digestive system). The condition of your skin is closely dependant on what you eat.

Nutrition and Your Skin

Nutrition is greatly involved at every stage of your skin development. Collagen makes up 70% of your skin and depends on vitamin C. Dry, rough skin (caused by the build up the protein keratin on the outer layers) can be prevented by Vitamin A. The membranes of skin cells are made from essential fats. Dry skin can be caused by a lack of these fats. The flexibility of your skin is reduced as you get older mainly because of oxidation damage caused by free radicals - from pollution, cigarette smoke, fried and burnt foods, sunlight. This damage can be limited by nutrients such as vitamins A, C, E and selenium. Lack of zinc can lead to stretch marks and slow wound healing, and is associated with a wide variety of skin problems from acne to eczema.

Foods that Keep You Young and Beautiful

Foods that can enhance your appearance need to feature as many of the following as possible: antioxidants, antibacterials, fibre to clear toxins, essential fats to support skin and reduced levels of saturated fat and sugar.

The types of foods where you’ll get this kind of combination are: fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, fish, pulses, nuts and seeds.

So, to improve your skin, try to include the following in your diet:

Apricots, cantaloupe melon, carrots, eggs, liver, pumpkin, red peppers, watercress - contain Vitamin A and beta carotene. Blackcurrants, broccoli, citrus fruits, kiwi fruit, papaya, peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and sprouted seeds - contain Vitamin C. Almonds, avocado, eggs, hazelnuts, olive oil, Sunflower seeds, walnuts - contain Vitamin E. Brazil nuts, cabbage, chicken, eggs, liver, molasses, mushrooms, onions, seafood, tuna - contain Selenium. Almonds, chicken, cauliflower, carrots, cucumber, eggs, oats, potatoes, sardines, tuna - contain Zinc.

And reduce your intake of these foods:

Alcohol Coffee/tea (no more than 2 cups per day) Sugar Saturated fat (found in meat and dairy products). And think about these other factors:

Avoid strong direct sunlight and use a sun block (sunlight causes oxidative damage and speeds the aging process of your skin).

Wash your skin with a gentle oil-based cleanser, not soap, and consider what is in your skin products such as your moisturizer (many cosmetics contains strong petroleum/alcohol based substances - remember these are absorbed through the skin).

Take regular exercise breaks (it stimulates blood flow, which will enhance delivery of oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells).

Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses per day (1- 1 litres)) to hydrate the skin. Too little water can be a major factor in dry skin.

Consider taking some nutritional supplements: a good quality multivitamin and mineral supplement; vitamin C; an antioxidant blend (containing at least vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium); and an essential fatty acid supplement (linseed oil, fish oil or evening primrose oil or oil blend). Remember supplements should be considered as an addition to a great diet and healthy lifestyle, not a replacement for one.

Use a skin brush for your body (upward strokes working from feet to torso) and an exfoliation cream for your face. Exfoliation helps to clear blocked pores and smooth away dead and dry skin.

If that sounds a lot to think about, don’t let it put you off. You can have the skin you deserve, the skin that reflects a healthier you. Just take it step by step. First introduce apricots, cantaloupe melon etc (the Vitamin A foods). Then when you’ve worked through introducing the healthier range of foods, start reducing the alcohol and sugar intake. In no time at all you’ll be on the road to better health and better skin

Layers of Complexity in Life and Persuasion: I Am An Onion

by Kenrick Cleveland

I love a good metaphor. An especially powerful metaphor for me lately has been that of an onion. The Cleveland Method deals with a deep understanding of our core drives and unconscious motivations. When we focus inward, only then can we genuinely understand others.

Lately with my students I’ve seen tremendous growth in quite a number of people that I’ve been talking with. This growth comes not only from an application and dedication to the strategies of persuasion in business but it comes from applying these to your whole life.

One of my students, an adviser who is becoming more and more successful in his business and financial life, was telling me on a recent phone call how these skills have not only affected his “bottom line” but they have meant so much to him in other ways. As a result of one technique, he stopped smoking and some other incredibly positive things have taken place in his life. (This is what I live for. When my students have breakthroughs in all areas.)

As an example of this peeling of layers, one both figurative and literal, I have seen this growth in my own life having shed 140 pounds. Peeling the layers, getting to the core of what is important, improving, fine tuning. . .these persuasion skills apply for us to enhance and grow.

By peeling away these layers I uncovered something else I needed to remedy–a hernia. Now I’m able to help myself even further towards the goal of excellent health.

These kinds of things that make us begin to understand the power of the unconscious drives and the motivations in our lives. While my focus for this program has become laser like in relation to persuading our affluent clientle, I realize that the bigger picture is of the utmost importance. I say this time and again; we are the first step, our own first project, in the pursuit of persuasion. Learn to persuade yourself, the rest will fall into place seamlessly and naturally.

I can absolutely guaranty you that there’s never been a great persuader on the face of the planet who doesn’t have a degree of mastery over his own life. Before I lost the weight, I had a very conflicted relationship with the thinking, the practice, and the actual doing. Eventually, something shifted into place. I got it and realized on another level that as an onion, the first step is to start with the top layer, and to keep peeling through visualization, through emotional freedom techniques (tapping), through intention, through coaching, through determination, through the universe system-it all came together as if I were a magician and finally figured out the alchemical recipe for my own self mastery.

Persuasion is a process. I, by no means, have mastered this body of knowledge. It would be egotistical and arrogant to believe that. It would also make me feel quite sad. Frankly, I love to strive for the goal of the highest I can achieve, but the real vibrancy in life comes from constantly evolving and growing.
